Cala Llenguadets Beach
Unlike the main beaches of Salou, at Llenguadets Beach you will forget that you are in one of the most tourist destinations of Spain. The beach is flanked by two rock walls which means you will be surrounded by nature. It has fine sand and you can rent umbrellas and sunbeds. It is located near the city centre but accessing it is a bit more complicated than the beaches you will read more about below. However, you can reach it on foot, by car or by bus since the stop is 200 meters away.
Cala Vinya Beach
If you are someone who prefers to be more in the water than lying in the sand, this beach will be your favourite. The beach has a length of only 30 meters but it does offer different rocky areas where you can explore the beautiful Mediterranean in peace. It is the perfect place for families because the water looks like a large pool with clear and clean water; mostly there are no big waves so you can let them play while you are relaxing. Furthermore, the beach has a kiosk, showers and you can even rent a hammock. Small but complete!
Cala Font Beach
Do you want a beach day where you can forget everything? Then Cala Font Beach is the place to be; easy to reach and access, sunbeds and umbrellas for rent and you can bathe in its calm and crystal clear waters. Located about 2 kilometers from the port and having many accommodations nearby, it usually has a higher level of occupancy than other beaches in the area. It has a length of only 50 meters and has all kinds of services (showers, kiosks, litter bins) although it doesn’t have toilets.
Cala Penya Tallada
Cala Tenya Tallada has amazing intense turquoise blue waters. It is ideal to visit when the wind blows from the northeast as it has a large rock wall on one of its sides which makes the Mediterranean generally quiet in this small area. It is one of the beaches with a difficult accessibility which results in a small occupation. It is a mix zone of rocks with extensions of sand and does not have services except for litter bins. If you would like to enjoy a beach day with few tourists, this will be the perfect place for you.
Cala Crancs Beach
With a wilder character than the more urbanized beaches of Salou, Crancs beach is ideal for bathers who want to swim in a calm Mediterranean and rest in the sand surrounded by nature. It isn’t that big, it has a length of 80 meters and a width of 50 meters, but it is perfect to escape the tourism. It is about 3 kilometres from the port of Salou but if you have a car you will arrive there in a few minutes; you can also walk depending on the location of your apartment or travel by the bus that links Salou with Tarragona. It has showers, sunbeds and umbrellas, and toilets.
Despite the volume of tourists staying here, Salou is also a perfect destination for those who want a bit of rest and privacy. You can enjoy the Mediterranean in places surrounded by nature, most without depriving bathers of all kinds of services and you can also access them on foot, by car or even taking the bus that goes to Tarragona.
