What to do in Benidorm?

Benidorm is one of the towns of Alicante that offers many holiday homes to the tourists, and especially in summer when the occupation is practically 100%. So if you do not want to be without a room with sea views or an apartment near the beach, book in advance to get the best prices and dates available.

Whether you choose  for an accommodation in the centre of the town or in the most remote areas, we recommend that you take time to get to know the old town of Benidorm because especially in summer it is perfect for walking and getting lost in its cobblestone streets. Below we give you some ideas of what you can discover here:

  • Punta Canfali

From the City Hall you can take different routes through the oldest neighbourhood of Benidorm. Before the tourist boom, it was just a fishing village located between two beaches and along a beautiful cliff with spectacular views. The latter is one of the essential points of Benidorm for all tourists, today known as Punta Canfali. Although currently we can only find a nice viewpoint over the waters of the sea, centuries ago a castle was located here that was destroyed over time through various attacks. The so-called ‘Balcony of the Mediterranean’ is always full of tourists taking photos because from here you can have a beautiful view of the coast of Benidorm.

  • Benidorm centre

From the viewpoint of Punta Canfali you can access the most central areas of the town such as Calle Mayor, Plaza del Castell or the neighbourhood of El Callejón. You will find old buildings, cobblestone streets and all kinds of shops. If you love shopping -of course you do!- here you can buy all kinds of items for your holidays for the best price: clothes, accessories, shoes… There is also a great variety of bars and restaurants where you can taste the gastronomy of the region: a good paella, a delicious horchata or ‘agua de Valencia’ by nightfall.

  • Beaches

As being one of the destinations in Spain where you can enjoy sun and good temperatures, it is logical that it is one of the cities that attracts the most tourists, both national and foreign visitors. The two biggest and most popular beaches in Benidorm are Levante and Poniente beach. If you are looking for a more quiet area, you can visit some of the bays nearby: Tío Ximo, Mal Pas or La Almadrava. All of them have something in common: a sea of crystalline waters with an intense turquoise colour.

  • Bars and clubs

Are you planning a trip with friends? Do you want to celebrate a bachelor party? Benidorm is a magnet for young people because there are a lot of clubs and bars where you can enjoy the best nightlife of the Costa Blanca. Most of them are close to the beach, which means it’s a good area to rent an apartment so you have everything you need close by.

Theme parks in Benidorm

If there is something that characterises Benidorm it would be all the activities you can do here. There are many theme parks that are open, especially during the summer months. When you are travelling to Benidorm with children, you should definitely visit the two theme parks below:

  • Terra Mítica

It is one of the most visited amusement parks in Spain where we find the most daring roller coasters, shows and recreational areas for all ages. Greece, Rome and Egypt are some of the areas where this theme park is divided in, and where fun for everyone is guaranteed.

  • Zoo

Zoos are always a good idea when travelling with children and the two located in Benidorm that we would like to recommend are: Terra Natura and Mundomar. While in Mundomar you can see all kinds of marine fauna through aquariums and shows, at Terra Natura you will visit birds, reptiles and mammals, like you are on safari.

Do you need more reasons to spend your holidays in Benidorm? As you can see, it is a destination that adapts to the tastes of any tourist and where you will enjoy an unforgettable summer.
