Japan in flower season
Japan is an impressive country to visit at any time of the year, but during the spring, when the cherry blossom is in bloom, Japan is really at its best. Plan your trip to Japan in March / April, during this time of the year the country is even more magical – after winter, the country comes back to life. The cherry blossoms are in bloom, the Japanese go picnic under the trees again, the temples are open until late in the evening and everyone goes to see the blooming cherry trees, what they call “Hanami” in Japanese. Walking through the beautiful, hundreds of metres long street in Tokyo, while a rain of blossoms descends on you, feels like a fairy tale.
Do you want to live this fairy tale? In Tokyo, the Ueno Park is the best place to go to. You can stroll between the blossoms, but beware, it is one of the most popular parks in Tokyo, so you will not be the only one… Do you want the blossom for yourself? Walk over Sakura-dori, a remote street that runs over a cemetery. In Kyoto you can enjoy the best of the blossom along the Philosopher’s Path. And finally, in Osaka, around Osaka Castle.
Marrakech
When we think of Marrakech, we think of large local markets, hidden gardens, narrow and cosy streets, palaces, waterfalls and of course the Sahara. Even it is possible to encounter “tree goats”. During a trip to Essaouira, a small port city with a quiet atmosphere, you will encounter goats in trees along the way.
Besides this funny image, we of course want to talk about the magical places that this city has to offer. In fact, everything the city has is amazing: the colours, the atmosphere, the people, the food and drinks … you name it! The best things to do in Marrakech are drinking a Moroccan tea at a rooftop bar, spending an evening on the Djemaa el Fna square, walking through the colourful Jardin Majorelle, visiting the Bahia Palace, and finally, getting lost in the largest mosque in Medina: Ben Youssef Madrassa.
Moraine Lake, Canada
Are you a true nature lover? Then Canada should definitely be on your bucket list. From our own experience, this country certainly belongs to the most beautiful destinations on earth – especially Moraine Lake. Once you have arrived at this lake, it looks like you are looking at a photo in a photo book. The clear blue, crystal water that shines in your eyes with, the snowy mountains in the background… in one word: WOOW! And the nice thing is that you can choose to go up an adventurous way. You have a path that goes up, but also tree trunks that lie in the water that you can climb over, but be careful to not fall into the water!
But besides this lake, Canada has countless other magical places. Two lakes near Moraine Lake are Emerald Lake and Lake Louise. The lakes all look alike, but you must certainly have visited all three. It is also possible to sail over the lakes with a canoe. An impressive experience! Please note that in the winter the lake is snowy. The best time to visit Canada is between March and October.
Bora Bora
This is a typical place with a relaxing atmosphere. Bora Bora is a dream destination for many. By hearing the name “Bora Bora”, many people already wander off. Think of the island life, the exotic climate and the unique accommodations. Holiday homes on water, where you can see the fish swimming from the balcony. The golden beaches, the crystal clear water, the green island… – the ultimate paradise.
You also love to do some sports during your holidays? Here you can go snorkelling and diving, where you will encounter sharks, rays and turtles. Or go hiking in the tropical forests.
Paris
Talking about impressive sights, we of course will think about the City of Love. To fully enjoy your city trip to Paris, you must of course visit the Eiffel Tower. In the evening a romantic place, and in the morning it is great for a picnic with fresh croissants. You can not miss the world’s most famous painting in the Louvre: the Mona Lisa. In addition, you can shop on the Champs-Élysées, enjoy the tastiest macarons, hang a love lock on the Pont de l’Archevêché, visit a show at the Moulin Rouge, or perhaps spend a day at Disneyland Paris?
Amalfi coast, Italy
Our final destination is one of the most beautiful places on earth, the Amalfi Coast. The Amalfi Coast is on UNESCO’s World Heritage List, thanks to its rich cultural history and rugged nature, but also because it is one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world. In addition, Amalfi is known for its steep cliffs, colourful villages and the wonderful Italian atmosphere.
To discover the Amalfi coast it is possible to drive along the coast, or to go by public transport. Every village along the coast has its own charm. The most famous village is Positano, a colourful village that is built vertically against a slope. You will also discover Sorrento, a popular seaside resort. Or Praiano and Ravello, both located on a mountain that offers a impressive view of the entire coast from Positano to Capri. And finally the Amalfi town, a historic town and the cultural and historical heart of the Amalfi coast.
